Pretty much the same story as what the Perfmeters report on my desktop system.
Memory leakage may also occur when files are opened or closed, though the
Zoomer doesn't come across as being quite so file-intensive as GWE on a PC.

Someone else writes:

-> i've heard rumor that Sharp is abandoning Newton for Zoomer types PDA.
-> can anyone confirm this ?

The rumour that I heard was that Sharp would stop producing the ExpertPad,
in favor of 'another PDA they have been developing'... and the only unit I
know of which fits that description would be the PT-9000, which of course
is a GEOS pad.

And now, a question of my own! :)

Hayes (Optima), Megahertz, USR, Intel, and Practical Periperals (my favorite)
have all introduced PMCIA-2.0 Type II modems and faxmodems, and I've seen
prices (in the catalog of PC Connection, where I got my PPI) ranging from
189.95 (Megahertz 2400 modem with 9600 fax) up to 389.95 (Hayes or PPI 14.4
faxmodem)... I know that PPI says theirs will work with "any DOS-compatible
system" and I presume the others offer similar compatibility, so is there
anything that's keeping someone from buying one of those and shoving it in
a Zoomer to use with the bundled AOL software? Oh, and I'm not sure but I
keep thinking AT&T/Paradyne has a PCMCIA _cellular_ modem...
