Every year, the LVNA arranges with the City of Sunnyvale for industrial sized trash dumpsters to be located throughout Lakewood Village so that residents can discard items that would normally be too large to put out for the regular refuse pickup. Volunteers from the neighborhood monitor each dumpster to ensure that no hazardous or otherwise improper items are put into the dumpster. Typically, there is a special dumpster placed somewhere in the neighborhood for receiving discarded tires.

The location of dumpsters varies from year to year, and there are specific rules about what can and cannot be placed in the dumpsters. Look for announcements in the Villager for details, usually in the June issue.
