Never had this problem. (I wish there was a way to get the notebook to
automatically boot up in text mode, rather than ink mode. Anybody know
if this can be accomplish'd?)

After the last app is closed, GEOS will exit. I just keep File Manager
around; sometimes I'll minimize it to keep it active but get it out of
the way.

Yes. The lowest two bits of the expressOptions line in the [uiFeatures]
section of net.ini control the express menu placement:
0 : none
1 : top primary
2 : below screen lower left (the "launcher" icon on the Zoomer)
If expressOptions is odd, just add 1 to move it to the launcher icon, or
subtract 1 to get rid of it altogether.

Not as far as I know. I'd be happy to be wrong, though!

Set defaultLauncher in the [uiFeatures] section to the program you want
to start with. For example, if you want to boot up to the File Manager,
use
[uiFeatures]
defaultLauncher=Utilities\File Manager

Yeah. Because no state files are created in Expert+ mode, the programs have
to start up from scratch. Annoying, but (IMHO) worth the additional benefits
provided.
