Although I am not familiar with your particular modem, ATZ will not do a
reset to factory defaults. AT&F will, but I don't think that that is your
problem. Look through your manual and get the info to right a simple script.
Turn on extended logging and pipe it to a file. Read your results. I
imagine that you are timing out during the handshake. I use a LARGE number
of PP9600FM/FMXT and have had similar problems. If my instructions were
greek, drop me an email and I will try and give you a hand. I do agree with
the previous comment that if possible, you want to set your baud rate to 9600
(or even 2400 or 1200 just to see if it works). This may give you an
indication if you are in fact timing out during the handshake.
