I know this is the Zoomer list, not a Radio Shack bash session, but I had a
similar problem with Radio Shack service. The disk drive on my Tandy 4825
SX started giving me spurious write-protect errors on my A: drive, so I took
it to RS and they shipped it off (it was under a 3-year extended warranty
that incidently cost me $300). Well, when it was returned, the repair slip
said they had replaced the disk drive. I took it home, only to find out NOW
THE DISK DRIVE DIDN'T EVEN WORK AT ALL. Needless to say, my computer went
back to the store and when it was sent back this time I MADE SURE IT WORKED
BEFORE I LEFT THE STORE. It made the salespeople mad, but I was the one
that paid $300 and was making the trips back and forth to store, so I didn't
care. Admittedly, I've never had another problem (and that problem was
fixed the *second* time).
