Zoomer modems fading away?

As I am on the road a lot with my Zoomer and do a good amount of e-mail, I
thought to invest in the RS Zoom 2400bps model (cat. 25-3105). I first called
1-800-THE SHACK which told me they were out of this in the warehouse, then I
called again and got someone more knowledgeable who told me to call Tech
Support. Either it's discontinued/upgraded or maybe a store can order this
for me. Turns out this is on indefinite back-order.
So I ordered Boca's 14.4 Pocket Modem instead.
Are other Zoomer peripherals & accesories going to meet the same fate?
