OK. My Zoomer is once again getting slower, and can only swap in one
app at a time. I conclude it is time to do a soft reset. Having been
burned once before on a soft reset, costing me my Date Book, I carefully
switch to a benign app (Solitaire) and press the reset button. Zoomer reboots,
and comes up to the "Congratulations... tap an icon to start" screen.
Except, when I tap, *nothing* happens. Nothing. Pressing A and B,
nothing. Pressing the scroll button, in all four directions, yields beeps.
Power off and back on. Same thing. Reset (several times). Nothing. The
Zoomer is up and running, and not complaining, but is ignoring the pen.
Data point: if you tap as soon as the screen comes up after the reset,
you'll get the hour glass icon where you are tapping, which tells me that
the pen sensing hardware is working, and that geos is seeing the pen.
Has anyone seen this? Is there any solution except a hard reset? I have
something like 80K of data in this thing that I don't want to lose! My
connection kit has not arrived yet, so I have no backup! I anxiously await
any advice anyone may have to save the day!
Calling 1-800-HELP-PDA gets me a recording to call back during business
hours. Thanks a lot, Casio :-(
