Re: "ul basketball"
sounds to me like a crack in a circuit board, or a cracked solder connection.
I have done lots of work on various electronic equip. I have also worked
in many consumer electronic repair shops. The japanese circuit boards
are made of a phenolic plastic (not fiberglass) and are prone to cracking,
if dropped or something. If you are handy with a soldering iron, you can
solder little wires over the foils on the board that are cracked. If you
do not have much experience with miniature components, I would not reccomm-
end you try to fix it yourself. It's probably a cracked board, chips don't
crack, if they do, they don't work at all, epoxy cases around semiconductors
are very tough. Good luck! Let us know how it works out.
