The deal is:

NEC is recalling the main Molicel batteries from PC-17-01 and PC-17-02
model Ultralites. They'll exchange your old battery or batteries for
new ones, and they'll throw in $100 per battery. If you have one of the
old non-removable battery models, you need to arrange to send the whole
unit in to NEC (hopefully they'll upgrade it to removable batteries).

Call 1-800-237-2913 and ask for the NEC battery program. Be prepared
to give them your UL serial number and tell them how many batteries you
have. They'll send pre-paid mailing envelopes and a form to fill out.
You send them batteries, wait 30-60 days, and they send new ones and a
check.
