Well, we've grown a bit. There are now 29 addresses on the UltraLite mailing
list, 28 individuals and one fan-out address. Please feel free to promote the
list in whatever way you see fit.

I've made a couple of changes you should know about. The "request" address
has been changed to ultralite-list-request@csd.mot.com (although the old
address, ultralite-request@csd.mot.com, will still work), and I also have
an alias ultralite-list-owner@csd.mot.com. These changes were made so that
it is more consistent with other mailing lists. I hope to get our list
added to the "list of lists" which is distributed by sri-nic. Does anyone
know how to do that? I don't happen to have a copy of the list of lists
around to look at for instructions.

I've started to create digests of old articles. I'm just creating chronological
digests of a size which are mailable; I'm not grouping subjects into threads
or anything like that. The reason I'm doing digests after the fact is so
that I can add new subscribers more easily and bring them up to date without
bombarding them with dozens of mail messages. Right now there are four
digests.

I'm looking for mailing list management tools. All I have now is "maildigest"
written by Dave Taylor in 1986. I'd like something which handles subscription
and unsubscription automatically. Anyone out there have a pointer for me?

I'm also open to suggestions on what else we can do with the list. I thought
about taking a survey of some kind to find out who had which models and what
software they were using, but I couldn't really think of a good reason to
annoy everyone with something like that. If you have any ideas which you
consider to be useful to the group, please let me know.

Well, that's about it. If you have answers to any of my questions, please
send them to ultralite-list-owner@csd.mot.com (oh, what the heck, you can
just do a "reply" if you want...) so as not to clutter everyone's mailboxes.

Thanks to all for participating in this list. I've found it quite useful
and plan to submit some interesting stuff whenever I get some time to do it.

One last thing, I've mailed this message from my UltraLite using UUPC.
Totally cool :-)
