Local area and history

Here are a few books about Sunnyvale and the Santa Clara Valley, but the best places to find local historical materials are the local libraries. In particular, go to the Sunnyvale Library and look in the California Collection room. Also, there is a library at the Sunnyvale Historical Society’s Museum.

Architecture and Interiors

Lakewood Village was built in the late 1950’s, and although it was an inexpensive tract construction, the homes were built in a mid-century modern style epitomized by Joseph Eichler’s architecture (genuine Eichlers can be found elsewhere in Sunnyvale and throughout northern California). The other books in this list show the work of other architects and designers of interiors and furniture, with a focus on 20^th century moderenism.
