When doing your hard reset did you have the A & B buttons pressed during the
press of the reset button in the battery compartment? If not, you only did
a soft reset and cleared just the state files. You will know that the hard
reset was successful when the Zoomer asks you to Press A to continue with
reset or B to cancel, if you never received this message you haven't pressed
the buttons in the right sequence.
Try resetting the device again, you might also try replacing the
CR2032 backup batteries along with the "AA".
