Power up problem.

Using the Expert+ patches, I have to re-enter all of the setup parameters
(ie: recalibrate pointer, preferences, etc.) whenever I power-up from a
system shut-down (closing all applications). I have two questions. First,
can I have it so that the system starts up without this and secondly, can I
make it so that the system does not shut down when all of the applications
are closed? Thanks... jeff
