Bindery is a native GEOS program that allows you to create "content"
documents in Geoworks' proprietary hyper-text help-file format. The
resulting files are readable by the freely available and freely
distributable program called BookReader. This is the format of files
used by the New OmniGo as well as (I believe) the Zoomer's "content"
files. By "content", I mean useful hyper-text documents that contain
useful information or content. An example might be city information,
airport listings, a hypertext gude to your favorits Star Trek
episodes, whatever. There have even been simple adventure-type
games written using this format. You can include full text and
graphics. It normally sells for around $100.00, but Geoworks is running
a special for around $30.00. I have it, and it is very stable. My only
complaint is that it uses Geowork's proprietary format which is, of
course, incmpatible with the rest of the world. I would have liked to
see them use HTML or something more standard and cross-platform. Of
course, I am still waiting for a decent GEOS-based comm program! ;-)
