Static RAM requires a constant "trickle" charge (voltage) to maintain
state (hold its contents). Flash RAM uses a "pulse" of voltage (light?)
to set state but no power is required to maintain state once set.
Therefore static RAM is a greater drain on battery energy, but flash
RAM is more expensive.
