Subject: digests available
Status: OR
A couple of subscribers have asked whether a "digest" option is available
on this mailing list. A digest option means that you don't get individual
messages as they are submitted to zoomer-list-1993. Instead, messages will be
accumulated until either 250 lines of text have accumulated or 672 hours
(28 days) have elapsed, whichever comes first. If you'd prefer to get
digests instead of individual messages, send the following message to
listserv@grot.starconn.com:
set zoomer-list-1993 mail digest
You can return to individual messages later by sending the following message:
set zoomer-list-1993 mail ack
Whether or not you set your mail preference to digest, you can retrieve
digests of previous zoomer-list-1993 mail. First, find out what digests are
available by sending the following message to listserv@grot.starconn.com:
index zoomer-list-1993
You'll get a message back which looks like this:
Archive: ZOOMER-LIST (path: ZOOMER-LIST) -- Files:
digest-001 (1 part, 12589 bytes)
etc...
You can then request individual digests by sending another message to
listserv@grot.starconn.com. For example, to retrieve digest-001, you'd
send:
get zoomer-list-1993 digest-001
Multiple "get" commands in a single message are accepted.
Please remember to send these commands to listserv@grot.starconn.com and
not to zoomer-list-1993@grot.starconn.com.
