Subject: comp.sys.zoomer newsgroup?
Status: OR
Last week, I posted a "request for discussion" for the creation of a
Usenet newsgroup, comp.sys.zoomer, to discuss Zoomers and related
products. So far, there has been only one response that I've seen.
Normally, a newsgroup proposal doesn't get to move on to the voting
stage unless there is some amount of support voiced for it during the
discussion phase. Of course, I'd like to think that the lack of
discussion means that everyone thinks I did a great job on the proposed
name and charter :-).
So, if you have access to Usenet and you are interested in seeing a
Zoomer newsgroup create, please post something to news.groups which
indcates your support. I only proposed a single newsgroup (comp.sys.zoomer).
If you'd prefer a small hierarchy, like comp.sys.zoomer.announce,
comp.sys.zoomer.programmer, and comp.sys.zoomer.misc, then indicate
that preference.
I'd also like to hear from anyone who might be willing and able to
moderate a comp.sys.zoomer.announce newsgroup, should that be needed.
If you're not sure what that means, then you're probably not the right
person :-). Please reply directly to me about that -- remember, a
"reply" to zoomer-list-1993 mail gets sent back to the list, not just to
the originator of the message.
Whether or not you have access to Usenet, I'd be interested in hearing
from people on this mailing list to see whether or not the newsgroup
(if it is created) should be gatewayed to the mailing list. You can
send mail to me directly or reply back to zoomer-list-1993, whichever you
think is appropriate to your message.
