-> fun product when it finally makes it to the store shelves, I didn't
-> see any other Zoomer-specific forum being set up on the Internet, and there
-> doesn't seem to be a lot of information readily available -- especially
Some Zoomer information is available via anonymous ftp on the Internet
as csd4.csd.uwm.edu:/pub/Portables/zoomer.news. See also pen.news and
pda25.uue. These files are also available via gopher from the same
host using the path "UWM Information/ Computing Services Division/ Csd4
Public FTP Archive/ Portables/".
By the way, Tandy calls it the Z-PDA, I heard the name change was
because of the Zoom modem trademark. Casio apparently still uses
Zoomer though. I suppose both will be called Zoomer, just like both
the Sharp and Apple devices are called Newton MessagePads. Apple
doesn't use PDA term much now, instead they use "communications
assistant".
-> - Is it just me, or does anyone else hate to use a pen? Has anyone thought
-> of hooking some kind of chord keyboard (maybe a glove?) to the Zoomer?
I hate to use pens in general, but I've never used a pen computer. I
know I would use it for some things if not for text entry.
