Yeah, I've looked at the Zoomer pricing in RS also - in fact, the guy
called there national parts center while I was standing there to ask
about some of the offerings. All they said was 'Can't order it yet' -
even though the guy told me Tandy had sent out a memo to all of the
RS stores saying that much of the stuff would be available 11/1. Sounds
like some problems getting the distribution together.

I just got the 2.0 SDK in the mail today and I just started looking at
it. I don't have Framereader so I've just started looking through some
of the text files. I'm glad to hear about the Zoomer-emulation stuff - now
I've just got to set up a second PC.

Yes, I'm thinking of doing some development for the thing. I'm not really
sure what yet, although the most immediate thing I would make use of
would be...more games! (I'm sure the game-packs are on the way, though.)
I'm actually thinking in terms of the IR interface - especially now with
the 3/94 availability from RS (and, given their track-record, it could be
even later than that). I have no idea how much info is available in
the SDK about the IR (either directly or via inference), but it's a thought.
I figure I've got several weeks of getting up to speed on the SDK before
I can do anything serious.

One thing I am concearned about is the 'upgradeability' of the unit -
is the current system software in 'ROM' or 'EEPROM'? I mean, given the
admitted memory leak and all of the bugs that haven't been found yet,
it would seem really dumb to have put all that code in permanent ROM.
