Tape #27: Consumer PDA's: The Software Opportunity 27-Oct-93

Jeff Hawkins, Founder of Palm Computing, talks about the convergence of the
consumer electronics and personal computing industries, the opportunity for
software developers, and the role the pen and handwriting recognition will
play in this new market. As VP of Research at GRiD Systems, Jeff developed
GRiD's sucessful pen-based computers and wrote the PalmPrint handwriting
recognition engine now used in GRiD, Casio, and Sharp products. Palm Com-
puting was the lead designer of the Tandy/Casio Zoomer and is now working
with Sharp on a new PDA.

This tape is available through the courtesy of the Software Entrepreneurs'
Forum Pen Computing SIG run by Bill McAlpine, and by special arrangement
with Jeff.
