It's tempting to hack around in the GEOS.INI, but don't!

Our engineers assure me that "editing the GEOS.INI *will* cause grave
difficulties.  Doing a hard reset *may* recover" from these, but you will
lose all of your data.  There are only a handfull of benign modifications
you can get away with (no, we won't enumerate them.).
