I got one of these mailings, too. I don't know if I'd trust a college
student (my guess, given the .edu domain) to do something as tricky as
a clock speed upgrade. My guess is they just replace the crystal, but
I've been an engineer for 10 years and wouldn't try it myself. Maybe
I'm just too attached to little Edgar here... :-)
And where did they get my email address? The email didn't come from
the pen-geos list directly, so maybe someone sucked out the addresses?
