Not enough Voltage you need a minimum of 2.6-2.7 volts and that is a
minimum. Normal nicads are only 1.2 volts a piece. Try the Rayovac Alkaline
rechargeables from Canadian Tyre, Best Buy etc at $23 4 AA batteries +
charger. Works with rechargable AAA alkalines as well. Recharge frequently
and you get round 25 recharges. I do mine once a week in normal use and try
not to let them get lower than 1/3 charge. Also lithium AA's are $4.50 US at
Best Buy.
