Thomas,
The common accented characters are available for most of the proper
characters via special Grafitti handwring strokes and Fn+Key combinations
from the keyboard with the US-English settings. To myself it seems fairly
easy to enter them, but I do not have to use them that often. The "sharp
S" could be entered as the Greek character Beta, but I would imagine that
it would be a bit more cumbersome (at least in pen mode) as you would have
to enter into symbol mode enter the beta and then return to the regular
character set.
