Thanks for pointing this stuff out! I was able to verify each of your
comments, and make the changes needed. Since had so many good bugs, and a
performance change as well, I think it would be a good idea to make a
distribution this month.

I wound up reversing the nesting of the conditionals for MD5 and USE_VARARGS in
fill.c

I was a bit confused about the collection of diffs - that's why I am going with
complete distributions each time. I did obsolete the xprcv.cf and xprcv-s.cf
files, and they won't be in the next distribution.
