Well, It worked!! I don't know how long it'll last on the batteries, but with
a small 4-AA cell pack, I am able to run my disk drive without having to drag
the power pack around. I'm going to try running it with NiCad batteries
next because they're closer to the proper voltage (4X1.2V vs. 4X1.5V), but
it does work!
