LITES.COM or equivalent

Has anyone gotten LITES.COM or some equivalent program to work with the
internal modem on the UltraLite? LITES is a TSR program which displays
what would be the front panel indicator lights on an external modem.

I tried LITES /2 and it loads, pops up with ALT-T, displays what look
like the appropriate lights, but then just hangs the keyboard.
CTRL-ALT-DEL doesn't even work after that. It fails in the same way
when COM2 isn't specified, with or without an active modem, and with
or without other TSRs.

I tore my hair out for about, oh, five seconds, and then figured that
perhaps someone on this list had it working. Should I RTFM or what?
