We're preparing a 1.4.1 release of MetaCard to take care of some minor
bugs that have been reported, but haven't been able to reproduce some
of them. If you have one of the systems listed below, please send us
a report (support@metacard.com) stating whether the problem exists for
you or not. As always, any other problems that you have run into
should also be reported promptly.

Solaris 2.3 and 2.4, possibly also SGI IRIS and RS/6000: EPS objects
don't display properly. Type the following into the Message Box: "go
to card 15 of stack mcdemo". Does the EPS object redraw? When you
change the settings on the scrollbars, does it redraw each time?

Solaris 2.3 and 2.4: the arrow buttons for navigating in mcdemo which
should be drawn with a yellow background sometimes have other colors
instead.

IRIS Indigo and Indy Irix 5.2: can't type into the Message Box.
Closing and reopening the Message Box fixes the problem.

I look forward to getting your reports,
Scott

PS: While trying to reproduce a bug a couple of people had reported on
SGI systems (the colors of images taken with "import snapshot" are
messed up), we discovered that this problem had already been fixed,
but the solution had not been documented. On SGI systems each window
can have its own colormap. When MetaCard takes a snapshot of an area
dragged out with a rectangle, it takes the colors from the system
colormap, which may not be the right colors for all windows. To work
around this problem, just click in the window you want to take a
picture of rather than dragging out a selection rectangle. MetaCard
will take a picture of the whole window and will use the colormap for
that window and so the image colors will be correct. Note that you
may have to resize (crop) the image afterwards if you don't want a
picture of the whole window.
