Mars Series #1 by Edgar Rice Burroughs
Mars Series #1 includes the first 4 books and glossary of the 11 book
series.

A Princess of Mars
This is the first book in the classic Mars series by Edgar Rice Burroughs.
>From the moment he arrives amidst a hathing of green Martians, Civil War
Captain John Carter is caught up in the conflicts of the hordes of Mars. Meet
Tars Tarkus, the green Martian who befriends the captured Carter; the regal
and proud Dejah Thoris, red Martian princess of Helium; Sola, the devoted
servant who teaches Carter the ways of Barsoom; and Tal Hajus, the evil
Jeddak of the Tharks. Burroughs tells this tale of the Earth man who wins the
admiration of the aliens through courage and battle prowess, and the love of
his beautiful Martian princess in page after page of swashbuckling adventure.
The journey starts here and continues in the sequel "The Gods of Mars".

The Gods of Mars
Edgar Rice Burroughs' sequel to "Princess of Mars". John Carter returns
from Earth to find his Martian princess in Barsoom. From his arrival amidst a
battle between the fearsome plant men and the green Martians, to his capture
by the fierce Black Pirates of Barsoom, to his condemnation for heresy as he
challenges long-held beliefs about the afterlife, the story flies along with
colorful imagery and vivid characters. Travel the stunning planetary
countryside as Carter meets Thuvia, the beautiful red Martian slave woman,
his son Carthoris and many others. Book 3 of the Mars series, "Warlord of
Mars," continues the story.

Warlord of Mars
Book 3 in the Mars Series begins as John Carter refuses the Helium throne
in favor of his son, Carthoris, so that he is free to go in search of his
lost princess, Dejah Thoris. Accompanied only by Woola, the tiger-like
taloned alien beast, he sets off through the Barsoom countryside to find the
hidden entrance to the Temple of the Sun where she is held captive. Soon he
faces Matai Shang, Hekkador of the Holy Therns, who now holds the princess,
intending to marry her himself after Carter dies an ignoble death. John's
heroic escape, assisted by Thuvia, the Martian maiden, starts the chase
through the Kaolian Jungle filled with ferocious and man-eating beasts and
onward to Kulan Tith to earn the title of Warlord. The story continues in
"Thuvia, Maid of Mars"

Thuvia: Maid of Mars
From the moment she is abducted from the garden of her father's palace,
Thuvia, princess of Ptarth, faces an uncertain future. Who are her captors?
Do they serve Carthoris, son of John Carter the Warlord of Mars, or Astok of
Dusar? And why have the stolen her away to a deserted city? These questions
remain unanswered as she finds herself in the clutches of the green Martian
warrior Thar Ban. Will Carthoris fall prey to the evil machinations of Astok,
who seeks to destroy the man who has captured the heart of the beautiful
princess?

Mars Glossary
Can't recall who Matai Shang is? Want to know where the Throne of
Righteousness is? Just use the Mars Glossary! This is the glossary found at
the back of the 4th Mars book. Terms, people, and places from the Mars
series are accessible from any of the 4 Mars books. Each term is cross
