As to what to buy, it depends on what you want to use it for. If like me,
your primary use will be management of personal information, I would
recommend the OmniGo. This is based primarily on the speed. With my Zoomer,
it may take two minutes to retrieve a phone number ( 1-Open the case, 2) Turn
it on, etc...) with the OG, its more like 30 seconds. I bought my Zoomer as a
trial of such a device, in order to see what I really use and what the most
important features are. It has served its purpose well. It is easy to
customize, and I have tweeked to about 95% of where I want it (100% is not
possible :) ). The Zoomers key limitations in my opinion at 1) Speed, 2)
Screen (clarity), 3) Size (its too big for the average pocket). Its big
advantage is price. You may want to grab one off the list or elsewhere for
$125-$150 and spend 6 months determining your needs. The OmniGo certainly is
not going to go up in price, and you can probably sell your Z for what you
paid for it.
Probably the key things that I will miss (at least initially) are built in
support for AOL and easy terminal emulation, but I've got a feeling these
will be solved. If nothing else, I just bought the SDK and I may tackle it
myself. Hope that I have sufficiently mucked up the issue. Good Luck :>)
