While I have not personally used HOPE, I did talk with someone from the
company and got som information about it. They told me specifically that
it is NOT a GEOS-based environment. HOPE for the Zoomer is a DOS-based
system that runs executables in a windowing environment in the Zoomer's
DOS mode. It is optimized and customized for the Zoomer to allow pen
input as well as recognizing the Zoomer's buttons. They said that they
were looking into incorporating Graffiti into HOPE. Again, this is not a
GEOS-based development system, but it is supposed to be good for vertical
apps. It is supposed to take Windows-based Visual Basic programs and
execute them from DOS. Pretty cool, but I am sticking with GEOS for my
needs.
