Currently available in Japan only. I am looking for others, interested in
purchasing
a large quantity of the PA-100A as I'm told the minimun purchase is 1000 units
with a price around $800 to 1000. The price for the docking station is around
$800.
I believe these prices will drop rapidly over the next 18 months. Can we wait?
Probably. Although they may add features to try to maintain the price point.
eg: Pager, Network, Cellular, Graffiti in ROM, Writing Telephone, GPS, Color
Screen, etc. Where is AMSTRAD with the InfoPad PIC 700 and others to help with
the price point?
Predicted US: maybe December 95/January 96.

The CASIO PA-100A:

8086 CPU for system management and a 32-bit RISC chip dedicated to handwriting
recognition. 2 MB of RAM. Configuration with additional 2 or 4 MB of Flash.
One type II
PC-Card, 3 pin serial RS-232 and optical I/F with speeds up to 2 Mbps. Size is
5" x
3 1/2" x 3/4" (just like a pack of a 100 or so 3x5 cards). Only a 4 gray scale
screen but
you can rotate it 90 or 180 degrees. It does have a screen cover that flips out
of the way. Weight is 3/4 pound and runs on 4 AAA batteries. The docking
station allows stacking
and is SCSI. Other options: Pen type bar code reader, modem and memory PC-Cards.

If you need more information or a fax-back picture/spec sheet, e-me. Now, the
wait . . . . .

Bye for now,

John
