I suppose I should have anticipated this question :-)
Mine is a Z-PDA.
And thanks to Kevin and Peter (whom I've already thanked privately)
for their responses. I'm intrigued by the suggestion that physical
digitizer separation has been a known problem (though I'm curious
how it causes these particular symptoms). My unit is long since
out of warranty, but I've had good relations with Tandy in the past...
