All the news of the OmniGo (100 & 700) has me thinking which is which and
what should I be looking for.

I got a stack of press releases in the mail today from Hambrecht & Quist.
They included a bit more information than I have been able to gather from
every other placed I've looked. But, what I had been looking for was the some
insight into the feature set and support for the OmniGo 700. This device from
the related notes around the world sounded like what we all should be waiting
for..

WRONG. The 700 is a larger device focusing its talents towards the digital
cell-phone market, and won't be available here in the US for some time. The
US doesn't have a large digital Cell phone network such as Japan or Europe.
Once the 700 is connected to a cell phone is grows to the size of a hard
covered book. Once the US catches up with a standard for digital cell phones,
then it may just fit my needs (as well as millions of other people in the US
that will want to switch over to the better support provided by a digital
network).

For now I'm putting my money into a 100, providing most of what the 200LX
provides with a pen-input capability (and GEOS as an additional benefit).

The other major factor, the 700 is targeted with a retail cost of $1400, not
unlike the PT-9000. Out of my range for the time being..
