What I mean is that the OmniGo uses GEOS 2.1 not 2.0. GEOS 2.1 has the
XIP (execute in place) technology specifically designed for palmtops.
GEOS desktop and Zoomer apps must be re-compiled with the SDK and made
available for the OmniGo.
As to straying from the intentions of GEOS, cross-platform compatibility
is acheivable on different machine brands running the SAME version of the
operating system. I suspect the XIP made the OS different enough that
backward binary compatibility was not possible.
IZL programs (*.IZT files) will run on any GEOS platform, provided the proper
version of the IZL interpreter is resident on that platform.
