Another thing I managed to do somehow, while I was preparing to do the hard
reset I mentioned in my previous post was to corrupt a text file.

I have my NET.INI set up so that by tapping ona .txt file in file manager,
the Text Editor will automatically boot and open the file.
What ever happened, on this one file, when I double tap it, my system crashes,
yet, if I open Text Editor first, I can open the file, and it looks fine.
None of my other files behave like this, and that particular one never did
that before.
The only thing I can think of, was that I accidentally popped out my sram card
while GEOS was still accessing it, but I had been working with a different
file that wasn't even in the same folder...
