This prompts me to ask what the differences are between the machines
other than the logos on the cases and the colours of the buttons (the
buttons on my Gridpad are a darker shade of grey than those on my Casio).
They certainly *appear* identical, though I haven't opened them up to be
certain. Even the manuals seem to be identical save for the references
to the manufacturers' names.
So, what are the non-cosmetic differences amongst the machines?

This *really* raises my hackles. NEED Palm Connect? Margo, please
don't take this the wrong way, but are you tech support or marketing?
I'm doing just fine using ZDOS, and am in the middle of writing a
WinDoze-based file transfer utility which is having no problem
whatsoever in communicating with the unit.
And as for "communicating with a PCMCIA card", I've heard a number of
people talk about simply sticking the card in a laptop bay and being
able to copy files directly to and from the cards.
I understand that Casio policy is probably that you have to insist on
Casio accessories for the Casio machine -- that's just logical business
practise (after all, if the manufacturer of a sister unit sells an
accessory less expensively, there's no question of which most people
would buy if they know they have the option).
But telling people that they *need* to buy a certain programme in
order to communicate with the unit -- that's blatantly false, and
in my opinion, highly unethical.
