To me, this is a bit harsh. While I too am not happy with the Expert+
mode as written, there are a LOT of GEOS.INI and NET.INI tweaks that are
quite worth while. I use a quite modified Expert+ mode that suites me.
You see, that's one of the cool things about GEOS -- it can be extensivly
tailored to each different user's needs. I think that it is safe to say
that though the native Zoomer mode is good, there are some settings that
could optimize it more. For example, my biggest complaint about the
Zoomer's native mode is that it fills the state directory as apps are
used. While I understand the purpose, it's nice to be able to
completely shut down an app as needed. My biggest complaint about any
tweaked modes is that if you want anything other than an ugly menubar,
certain apps were written to fill the screen and some info onn the screen
bottom gets lost. Take for example, the language translator: In
Expert+ mode, the bottom line gets cut off. [One work-around is to click
on the language selector on the top (say, English), select your word,
then click the language seleector on the top again and select the new
language (say, Spanish) and the list takes you to thecorresponding
translation!]
