Grid SRAM card

I just recently purchased the 1mb SRAM card from surplus technologies. It
didn't come with any documentation. I have just a few questions.

1. Is there any type of warning that you get when the battery is low?

2. Can you change the battery without losing all of your data?

3. How long does the battery last?

I keep a few important notebooks on the card and just want to figure out how
often I should back up the card to be safe.
