NEWBIE/Serial cable

Hello:

This is my first post to the list. I will be purchasing a Zoomer in the
next month or so, and I have also ordered a 1 Mb SRAM card from Surplus
Technologies (as described in an earlier post.).

I wish to have a serial cable so I can do file exchange using the LINK
feature of Ensemble 2.01. How good is this feature? Will I be able to
cut/paste text and/or drawings from Zoomer files into GeoWrite and GeoDraw?

Are GeoDraw objects paste-able into drawing pages in the Zoomer,
specifically the draw page of the address book?

Finally, Where can I get a serial cable? That is, for cheap? If I
purchase the 9644/2400 pocket modem from Surplus Tech, would the included
cable do the job (maybe with a null modem adapter?)?

Thanks for the help from previous posts. I really look forward to using
my Zoomer.

In particular, I will try to adapt the address book fields to make a
bibliographic database file (I am a grad student). I figure a scientific
paper is similar to an address. It has names (authors), addresses
(Title, Journal, Page, Year), and miscellaneous information.

In addition, I will try to make it work as a database of frozen DNA stock
solutions. Again, name of DNA, freezer box location, and a drawing
schematic of the DNA structure.

Thanks for your time.
