It is my understanding that Rayovac Renewal batteries are not NiCd, they are
"reusable alkaline" (whatever that means). I tend to believe this because
they are 1.5 volt, not 1.25 volt, and last quite a bit longer than previous
NiCd batteries I've used. This is especially true on my Game Boy that I haul
on long airplane trips. Its light would only last ~1 hour with NiCd, but
I've run the Renewal batteries for over three hours without it dimming.
I don't have any experience with Flash ram, but I have had considerable
success with my 2MB S-RAM card. Based on my experience elsewhere, I would
expect Renewal batteries to perform as well as normal Alkaline batteries.
