I believe Nokia has a datacard or something, that I am told behaves like =
a
modem at one end, and feeds into the GSM network at the other. If the
designing engineers deserve to be called such, the device goes from
digital to digital, and consumes little power; therefore stood a chance =
of
being compatible with the Zoomer. Anyone know more about the Nokia
datacard?=20

Nokia indeed has a datacard, but this thing consumes quite a bit of =
energy so it won't be suitable for the Zoomer, but they have another =
solution for this. It is not a PCMCIA device, but connects to the Com =
port. This thing was specially designed for computers that cannot supply =
the amount of energy needed for the PCMCIA datacard (and computers =
without PCMCIA sockets). This new device has its own battery included =
and when you place your Nokia phone in it, it stands right up, which =
contributes to a better reception. It will be a little bit more =
expensive than the pcmcia datacard, but that is understandable since the =
thing has a battery and all.

By the way, is ".au" into GSM/digital?

The above works for GSM I don't know if it is the same for any other =
network.
