I believe intellilink will do this, but I have no experience with it.

The problem you are having is inherant to Zoomer's "native" operating
mode. When you start up an app, it just "flips" to that app. What is
happening is that the Zoomer is swapping apps in and out as it needs more
memory saving the state of each app as it swaps. Notice that when you
switch back and forth between two apps, the switch is almost
instantaneous. When you switch among multiple apps (4-5) or start a new
app, you get the "program loading, please wait" message. This is Zoomer
swapping out open apps to free up memory for the new app. The
performance degredation typically comes from Zoomer creating larger and
larger state files. In the "native" mode, Zoomer has no way of cleaning
up these state files short of doing a soft reset (pressing the reset
button in the battery case). Your data will not be lost if you do this.

To get around this, I use the Zoomer in a pseudo-expert+ mode. My
configuration allows me to treat it more like a desktop machine in that
I default my launcher to the File Manager. The important feature,
though, is the ability to open up and close down apps when you are done
using them. I have found that I can keep open an average of 3 to 5 apps
running concurrently. This is more than adequate for me. My wife has a
Zoomer, and she doesn't like my setup. She likes the ability to launch
any app from the hard icons or the launcher menu without having to use
the desktop paradigm. (She also hates Windows.) It's just a matter of
preference. If you would like more info on Expert+ and my pseudo-Expert+
modes, let me know and I can post it for you or anyone else who is
interested. Also, check out my home page (see my .sig) and follow the
pointers to the Zoomer home pages. There are a LOT of tips and tricks
there.

I have no idea. I'm a GEOS-head at heart, and have not investigated
PenRight. ;-)
