Recall that ink is much more memory-expensive than text -- about 8 to
1 times as much memory required to store an ink character compared to
a text character. This is because the ink itself is being stored in
bit vectors. The Sketch Pages are limited to storing about 4000 bit
vectors. Using ink, you may only get two or three screens on a page
depending on how round or "loopy" your handwriting is.
The Notebook page (a Sketch Page) has roughly 170 text lines
capacity on the US Zoomers (140 on the European XL-7000). Using
Graffiti, since it converts everything to text (the ink stroke isn't
saved), you can take full advantage of this capacity.
