The Address Book is a database which can accommodate entries with
non-alphabetic characters in the index field (Name), such as numbers,
*,&,$, etc. Records with these characters starting the Name field
will go under the "*". Entries made in the Name field in ink may
either be assigned a letter for indexing, or "*" to be indexed
outside of the alphabet.
This also supports the case of importing data from an external source
where the mapped Name field has no value.
