My guess is that it's a bouncey on/off switch contact. It's a "soft" switch, in
the sense that it doesn't really turn the power on or off. The Zoomer is always
"on" to the extent necessary to do alarms and such. The on/off switch signals
the Zoomer to power up/down the display and other functions for interactive
use. If the switch is working properly, and you switch it on and then quickly
switch it off, the Zoomer will turn on, do it's normal housekeeping chores, and
then turn off. That sounds like what's happening with your Zoomer -- it's
getting two signals from the on/off switch, as if the switch contacts were a
little bouncey.
