Thanks for the confirmation Chris.

An interesting note about the fact that the AST Gridpads being in the
warehouse since 12/93: This means that the batteries have been
active (Gridpad in sleep mode) for almost a years if you bought your
Gridpad recently from Costco. I was able to run mine for about two
weeks of heavy use on the original batteries!

This says something for sleep mode on these puppies, huh?
