Minimal Zoomer Scratchpad App

Is there an app for the zoomer that provides a single
scratchpad page for taking notes? I get really tired
of waiting what seems like forever to load the Palm
Note Book. And when I use the Sketch pages of Date Book,
my temporary scribbles end up scattered around like mouse
droppings, doing me no good yet taking up memory.
One would think a tiny (ie small memory foot-print) app
could sit in memory and provide a single page of note-
taking space. Does such a utility exist?
On a similar note, is there a way to wire particular apps
into memory so they never get swapped out?
