First of all, I'm not looking for porting of Unix to the zoomer (which
would be nice, if XFree got ported as well :-)). I would like to know what
file transferring option is available for unix users. Is there a simple
utility which allows me send or receive a file on the zoomer? (I really
don't know anything about DOS.) The unix side is trivial. For example, to
capture a file in unix, you can
unix> cat < /dev/cua1 > outfile
before start sending a file from the zoomer and to send a file to the
zoomer, you can
unix> cat < infile > /dev/cua1
while the zoomer is in receiving mode, where /dev/cua1 is the serial port
connected to the zoomer.
Yesterday, I grabbed the last two zoomers from the Price Club in Temecula,
CA (Indian for: It is a long drive from anywhere), only to find that both
were returns. One has the previous owner's name and address in the address
book. And according to the history in the other one, the first word ever
looked up in its dictionary was "oversex" :-).
I might have to return both if I can't find a simple way to load my large
address database (emacs BBDB) to it.
