(1) From the PC side, PalmConnect doesn't see the files on my Zoomer's flash
card, even though they are hooked into the Document directory in main
memory. I suppose this is purposeful on the part of Palm (?). However,
PalmConnect also doesn't see the flash card as a seperate device either,
and so there seems to be no way to copy files from the flash card to the
PC by intiating the trasfer from the PC side.
(2) From the Zoomer side, when I try to copy files from the flash card to
the PC drive, it indicates that it's started a transfer but basically
hangs the Zoomer. If I try to "Stop" the transfer, it says "Stopping
after copying..." and continues to hang. All I've been able to do at
that point is reboot the Zoomer.
(My software sees the card as C: drive PC. I wonder if there is some
problem with the software. You might want to call PalmConnect support. They
are quite helpful (I called them about the software when I was considering
buying it.) and will return your call if you leave a message)
I am probably not giving you the answer that you want, but I am using a
SunDisk 1.8 meg on my Zoomer and have had no trouble in transfering files. I
use the Zoomer Connect menu and chose File Linking ( make sure that you are
in the C: drive directory if that is your card drive number). Then I transfer
both ways and have had no trouble with the process. on their answering
machine.
